LA SECESSIONE VIENNESE

VIENNESE SECESSION

Founded in 1897 by Klimt and other artists, the Viennese Secession was a revolutionary movement that aimed to break away from rigid academic conventions from the past. In opposition to traditional art, it promoted an innovative and experimental language, embracing Art Nouveau and integrating various forms of expression, from architecture to painting and design. With the motto “To every age its art, to every art its freedom”, its manifesto expressed the movement’s rebellious and visionary spirit. The Secession Building is an iconic symbol of the movement, embodying the values of modernity and creative freedom.
