ART NOUVEAU

ART NOUVEAU

The Art Nouveau movement, also known as Liberty, revolutionised art and design with its sinuous lines and patterns inspired by nature. This movement was driven by a search for harmony between art and everyday life, contrasting with academic conventions. Its influence spanned architecture, painting and applied arts. Vienna became a key location for this style to blossom, with Klimt as its emblematic figure. In his paintings, he turned decorative effects into a form of expression for personal and social themes, integrating floral and symbolic elements to reflect the complexity of human existence and the modernity of his time.
